ITASCA will be participating in CouFrac 2026 – The 5th International Conference on Coupled Processes in Fractured Geological Media, taking place from 20–23 September 2026 in Uppsala, Sweden. The conference brings together researchers and practitioners working on the observation, modeling, and application of coupled processes in fractured rock masses.

CouFrac 2026 will focus on the interaction of thermal, hydraulic, mechanical, and chemical (THMC) processes in geological media and their role in critical applications such as geothermal energy, carbon sequestration, underground energy storage, nuclear waste disposal, groundwater management, and deep mining. The program will feature keynote lectures, technical sessions, workshops, and discussions covering both fundamental research and engineering practice.

As part of the event, ITASCA looks forward to engaging with the international geomechanics and rock engineering community, exchanging ideas on advanced numerical modeling, fractured rock behavior, and coupled-process simulation across a wide range of subsurface applications.
