Itasca Consulting Group, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Itasca, a growing international engineering consulting and software company, is seeking a software developer in its Minneapolis office.

Geomechanics Software Engineer

The successful candidate will have a background in engineering mechanics and have a master’s or PhD in mechanical, civil, mining engineering or related discipline. Primary responsibilities will include supporting and developing geomechanics modeling software, specifically discrete element and finite volume programs. Programming experience in an engineering application is required. Primary development will be done in C++ but some Fortran development will also be required. Experience with using Itasca software is a plus.

R&D Software Engineer

The successful candidate will have a background in scientific computing and software development. Candidates with a master’s or PhD in applied math, physics, engineering (including software engineering), or similar disciplines will be considered. The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing numerical algorithms in Itasca programs, including geometry manipulation, solving non-linear systems of equations, 3D graphics, etc. Both shared memory and distributed memory parallelism are used by Itasca. Experience with OpenGL, Qt, and MPI will be beneficial.
