The latest updates to ITASCA software products such as FLAC3D, FLAC2D, 3DEC, PFC, and MassFlow now include point releases (e.g., 9.1, 9.2) between major versions (e.g., 9.0, 10.0). These point releases bring significant benefits for subscription license holders.
Subscription license holders enjoy seamless access to point releases at no additional cost. These point releases are packed with new features and capabilities developed in response to user feedback and industry advancements. By staying current with point releases, subscribers can leverage the latest tools and functionalities, enhancing their productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.
Perpetual license holders also benefit from continuous support within their software version's support period. Although this does not include access to point release updates, periodic software updates will include any available bug fixes and even some minor improvements to ensure functionality and reliability of the software. Perpetual license holders may also purchase maintenance to access point-releases or ask about how you can convert a perpetual license into a subscription license by contacting sales@ItascaSoftware.com.
JWL Constitutive Model for Blasting
Applies to FLAC3D and FLAC2D:
The JWL (Jones-Wilkins-Lee) equation of state (EOS) has been added as a constitutive model.
This constitutive model enables simulation of the thermodynamic behavior of detonation products as they expand and model the propagation of detonation waves and the interaction of explosive products with surrounding materials.
Applies to FLAC3D, FLAC2D, 3DEC, MassFlow, PFC3D, and PFC2D:
Bench Blast Design rapid tool: Interactive blast simulator that combines empirical models for Kuz-Ram blast fragmentation and vibration. Consider the effects of different explosives, different rock types, and various blast hole layouts. Results include rock fragmentation, vibrations (PPV plots plus critical PPV distance and scaled distance charts).
Explosive Rock Interaction rapid tool: Interactive bench blasting simulator for a single blast hole with ANFO, emulsion, and low density explosives for different rock types, and blast hole specifications. Results include energy distribution (crushing, vibration, gas), time pressure chart, hole expansion and crushing zones, and throw velocity and approximate throw distance.
