Ground-Structure Interaction

L'interaction sol-structure est l'effet itératif que les déformations du sol ont sur toutes les structures stabilisantes mises en place (poutres, murs de palplanches, pieux, revêtements, ancres, etc.) et inversement. Ceci est particulièrement important pour les structures lourdes reposant sur des sols relativement meubles (Wolf, 1985). Les méthodes à l’équilibre limite ne permettent pas de rendre compte correctement de l’interaction sol-structure, d'où l’approche de réduction de la résistance en volume fini (FV-SRM, « Finite Volume Strength Reduction Method ») d’Itasca. En intégrant les éléments de structure dans le modèle numérique, le comportement d’un ouvrage peut être mieux analysé, tout en maintenant la sécurité et en évitant la sur-conception et les coûts inutiles.
